Dance helped Americans forget about the economic depression that lasted throughout the 1930s, when the original Continental Avenue Bridge made its debut. Especially popular were danceathons, with big band orchestras playing such iconic tunes as "Mood Indigo" and "Moonlight Serenade".
Come bring your best dance partner to Trinity River Revel and re-live the era with this outdoor danceathon underneath an (almost perfect) full moon!
The internationally renowned group Neeki Bey and the New 19 will provide a jazz, blues and big-band backdrop to those who choose to show off their steps.
You never know who you'll spot dancing the Big Apple or Swing. Like any worthwhile dance club of the 1930s, there will be a bar nearby for you to purchase a little hooch and professional dancers will be on hand to demonstrate the decade's most memorable moves.
